About Random Golf Club
We are the global community of local golfers. We make films, run adventures all over the world, and bring people together around a game we love, with the belief that it should not matter what you wear, who you know, or what plane your swing is on. You are part of the club.
Our content is how the world finds us. The films get watched, the trips sell out, people tell us we changed how they feel about golf. It is the beginning and the end of everything we do.
The opportunity
Short form is how we reach the next million golfers who have not met us yet, and we want one person to own it.
We are not short of raw material. Our editors and filmmakers are shooting constantly, in Iceland, Japan, Norway, Casa de Campo, places most golfers will only ever see on a screen. The archive runs deep. The talent is in front of the camera every week. Everything you would need to build the best feed in golf is already in the building.
That is the job. Take a set of brilliant ingredients and a feed with enormous headroom, and build something the rest of the golf world tries to copy. You will have real autonomy, direct access to our founder and our on screen talent, and a team that will make what you brief.
The two halves of this job
Most people are good at one of these. We need both, and we will test for both.
The eye. You know what makes someone stop, watch twice, and send it on. You can look at three hours of gorgeous footage from Norway and find the forty seconds that will actually travel. You can name why a piece is not working and say the one thing that would fix it. You build formats rather than one offs, and you write captions that sound like a person rather than a brand.
The nous. You are the one who keeps the machine running. The calendar is planned weeks out, not filled on a Tuesday morning. The specs are right, the covers match, the bios are current, the links work. The numbers get pulled, read, and turned into something the team can act on. Nothing gets dropped,
What you will own
- The calendar. End to end, so trips, partner work, film launches and brand moments land in the right order instead of on top of each other. Planned weeks ahead, not assembled on the morning
- The feed. What goes out across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Facebook, and when. Recurring, named formats rather than one offs, so the audience learns the rhythm and each one gets easier to make
- The craft. Cutting our long form into short form, writing every caption and hook, art directing overlays and covers, and briefing our designers so the grid looks like one brand rather than five
- Getting in early. Sitting in the conversation before a shoot so short form is designed in, not scavenged out of the edit. Asking for the extra angle, the piece to camera, the ten seconds nobody would have thought to grab
- Partner content. The main point of contact for anything partner related that touches the channels. Integrated short form people would watch anyway, woven in, never an ad break
- The community. DMs and comments across every channel, plus the housekeeping: bios, links, highlights, pinned posts, all current. Small things, and the first thing a new visitor sees
- The numbers. Weekly tracking of retention, shares, saves, clicks and growth, a monthly digest so we read trends rather than snapshots, and insight that actually changes what we make next
- Being early. Watching the platforms and the rest of golf, spotting formats and moments in time to be first, and having the judgement to skip the ones we would be late to
What you bring
- At least three years running social for a brand, agency, media company or creator, including a stretch where the channels were genuinely yours
- A native feel for short form. You understand how each platform actually behaves, and can explain why something worked rather than just that it did
- A portfolio with the numbers behind it. We care more about shares, saves and watch through than follower counts
- Writing ability. Captions, hooks, the line that decides whether anyone stays. This is a writing job as much as a visual one
- A creative eye, enough to art direct titles and covers and brief a designer with confidence
- Feedback that lands. You can tell an editor exactly what would make a piece better, and why
- You know golf. No need for a low handicap, but you follow it, you play it, and you can feel when a golf moment is happening that we should be reacting to today rather than next week
- Ownership energy. You move fast, you ship, and you do not need to be chased
The technical side. You should be fluent in the platform back ends, a scheduling tool, native analytics and UTMs.
Nice to have. Shooting ability on a phone or camera. Paid social and whitelisting. Motion graphics. Experience at a creator-led brand where the audience expects a personality rather than a logo.
Probably not for you if
- You want to be the one on camera. We have talent for that, and this job is behind it
- You want strategy with no hands on the keyboard. You will be scheduling, captioning, cropping and answering DMs every week
- You need a brief before you can start. We will give you direction and access, not a queue of tasks
